lyrics
Under summer skies I met you
Though I didn't see them at the time
And now it's a whole other season
It's been so long since I have tried to call you
And I'll probably never hear from you again
Leaves me so curious what could have been
Put your place into my life
So here goes one final strive
Something nothing everything
I'll take it all
And if the summer wasn't right
I'll still try with all my might
For something nothing everything waits on your call
Not much point for me to ponder
It's been so long I've moved along
But something left is still here missing
The closure that you rarely have still haunts me
Though I didn't really care that much anyway
But maybe you'll hear me sing this song someday
These stupid little games
I'm sure I've done the same
You never seem to know
But maybe it's enough
I seem to have my answer now
Though it's sometimes fun to doubt
You haven't disappeared
Put your place into my life
So here goes one final strife
Something nothing everything
I'll take it all
And if the summer wasn't right
I'll still try with all my might
For something nothing everything waits on your call
Not on mine; I'm moving on
Something nothing everything
The UK upstarts' debut veers from sunny, psychedelic folk to bristling post-punk with reckless abandon without ever missing a beat. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 18, 2024

I have not heard such kind of dark metal for ages! In the late 90s this style was quite popular with bands like Darkseed, Sundown, Aion, Diabolique, Beseech or Paradise Lost in their soft phase. Sure, on one side "The Everlasting" sounds old-fashioned, but on the other the songs are a welcome variation in my current playlist. And old-fashioned or not, songs like "Waiting for the Sign" or "Bred to be broken" are simply catchy, cool and they rock! H.L.
